A snapped connector, a stick that is no longer detected, or Windows offering to format it: these three cases cover most of what reaches us.
Mechanical damage
Sticks break where they stick out: at the connector. If the solder pads on the board are still intact, the connection is rebuilt and the stick is read out over a temporary contact.
Where the board itself has cracked, the memory chip is removed and read directly. The controller's translation logic then has to be reconstructed, which is the laborious part of the job.

Controller and logical faults
Flash memory is managed by a small controller that hides worn cells and distributes writes. If that controller fails, the stick reports zero capacity or nothing at all, although the data is still there.
Formatting prompts, by contrast, usually mean a damaged file system. Do not accept the prompt – confirming it makes the work considerably harder.
What recovery costs
For this service the guide price is from 179 € including 19 % VAT. The binding price is fixed after the analysis – nothing is charged before that.
Analysis free of charge
We examine the medium and establish what work is needed. There is no charge for that.
Fixed price in advance
You receive a binding quote with a list of the files found. Only then do you decide.
No data, no invoice
If the agreed data cannot be recovered, you pay only the agreed return shipping.
Frequently asked questions
Windows wants to format the stick. Should I let it?
No. Unplug it and leave it. Formatting rewrites exactly the structures that are needed to find your files again.
The stick is physically broken in two. Is it hopeless?
Not automatically. What matters is the memory chip, not the housing. If the chip survived, the chances are reasonable.
